Capt Pete Mercuro, moved to Myrtle Beach area from, NC to pursue his favorite fishing pastime. After two years working, and devoting a great deal of time on learning the local waters, catching many fish, he started the Extreme Fisherman charter service early 2002.

Fishing began early when five with his father an avid and dedicated striper fisherman along the NJ shore. He developed a growing desire to be on the water learning time old tips and techniques of coastal saltwater fishing step by step from his dad. NJ also fostered many wonderful summer days camping , hunting and fishing within Appalachian mountains along high waters streams, lakes and deep in valleys of the Delaware river. Here he first picked up the light tackle fishing expertise that is the key driving force today of the Extreme Fisherman guide service. Graduating from hooking sunfish , crappie, trout, to large and small mouth bass, his passion continued to build. After leaving NJ over 30 yrs ago, working in the corporate world , from Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, Arizona, and NC; time to drop a line in the water on days off was always found. Louisiana is where he first landed red drum and speckled trout. But a defined desire for large mouth captured him in Cajun country to the Texas borders. He sought out great fresh water action in the Achafalaya basin from Henderson, to Chico State Park, Crew boat shoot, Turkey Creek, onto Toledo Bend, Sam Rayburn and many big and little waters. After moving to NC, now with his son at Jeff at his side, large mouth bass became the fish that they spend many hours on Lake Norman, Wylie, High Rock, Tillery and others, seeking out this much sought after and worthy predatory adversary.

Excursions to the coastal Atlantic Coastal waters continued with Myrtle Beach fishing a frequent destination. After moving permanently to the Myrtle Beach area early 1999, the fishing passion switched to the saltwater side.

Capt Jeff Mercuro was raised in the deep south and NC. By four years old, at his father side many, many days of fun fishing, learning and catching with a hook and line in the water were spend. Now an expert light tackle fisherman, and small boat operator, Capt Jeff pursued his saltwater passion with his Dad during last 10 plus yrs fishing the SC waters at every possible opportunity. With his energy, constant fishing persistence and patience ability, he now out fishes his father often. Jeff's four year old son is already learning the magic of fishing.
